School's Summer Series in Autumn - Event 2 - Long - Forrester Park
With high winds and squally southerly showers, we have decided to postpone today's event. It's not often that orienteering events get postponed, but we want everyone to have fun, safely, at our events. Not only do the courses use the steep forested mountain bike tracks, with increased tree fall hazards, but some volunteers need to be out in these conditions for about 6-7hours.
We will work with the DCC to find another suitable date to hold this event in the coming week. We will let you know asap when that will be.
In the meantime, thank you for your interest in attending. We wish you a safe and warm Mother's Day and look forward to seeing you all when we reschedule.
Noho ora mai | stay well

2026 school's Rogaine - Waiora Scout Camp, Sunday , 14 June
This year, as part of the school's series, we are hosting a one-hour rogaine for students, followed by a one-hour rogaine for members of the public who want to explore this beautiful location.
The addition of the rogaine is designed as an introduction to rogaining, as well as allowing students who wish to enter the NZ Secondary Schools Rogaine Champs in Christchurch on 19 July to get some last-minute team training. https://www.orienteering.org.nz/.../nz-secondary-schools.../
As rogaining is a team sport, all student teams must have at least 2 members. Composite teams can be arranged on the day if required.
The rogaine will take place primarily within the bounds of the Waiora Scout Camp.

At the AGM last weekend the quorum voted to change the name of the club from the Dunedin Orienteering Club to Otago Orienteering Club. This is to better reflect the geographical spread of our members and events.
We are undertaking the process of updating websites and emails to reflect this.
